Clueless me

For years, I have always wanted to immerse myself into the gaming world but had no idea where begin or what I wanted to do.  So in 2009, I joined a website called FFXIVCore which covered a game called Final Fantasy XIV. I spent alot of time making friends with community and one day I saw a post from the owner of the site looking people to join his staff. I applied for the wiki team, better to try than never try at all.

After having a online interview with several of the admins and the owner, I was recruited to research and find news in any shape or form as long as it didn't break any terms of NDA. So for a year I did a number of community relations and researching day and night for information and getting information translated from Japanese to English.  The owner of the site, worked for Curse so once the site got popular he sold it to his company. Curse kept us on but still as volunteers. I did the best I could with the limited resources I had at my fingertips. I ended up taking over as Lead wiki/researcher and design. Later on I left due to lack of help and other reasons. However to this day I still get random people from that site adding me on Facebook or Twitter for reasons unknown but it's an awesome feeling regardless.

Awhile later one of the writers FFXIVCore sent me a link to a web magazine for SWTOR (Star Wars: The Old Republic) saying they needed writers. I was surprised because I am by no means a writer but he encouraged me to do it anyhow. I applied and ended up getting two articles published in one magazine. (The articles can be views several posts below this one.) It was a good experience but it was not for me.

After I left TORMAG, I stalled out for awhile with no clue what to do so I made up my mind this summer to re-enroll back into college and try hand at progamming, level design or possibly community relations. Wish me luck!
